Quadratic Drop

Quadratic Drop

Quadratic drop is a personal experimental project. Starting whit the idea of making something new and desifying all my design skills, I got the idea to make an abstract water drop without any 3D rendering, just Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Step by step I was adapting the design with new ideas an effects that helped to bring the best result.A great  art project that ended in a succesfuul result by printing the art work and showing it in some art and design galleries arround the world.

Step 1: Illustrator drawing
Staring with the pen tool in Illustrator, I draw every triangle to make the first look of the design that was the center of the art.  Estimated time: 5 hours
Step 2: Coloring
I separated the design in 6 different blocks to make it easier to differentiate layers. the I make a color palete to help me get some shadows and highlights. Estimated time 4 hours.
Step 3: Photoshop adjustments
I export the 6 different blocks to photoshop to star making all the color adjustments. Estimated time: 2 hours
Step 4: Adding effects
The most deifying work of all. Making the design look more reall and adding all kind of effects like Highlights and shadows, making background depth, designing the water drop and adding some flares to make it shiny. Estimated time: 4 hours
Final Result
The final result was a lot better than expected. I was able to combine colors by adding effects and make the art look tridimensional and shiny. A great success for my work.
